It’s inspired by The New Yorker and centered around the writers and editors of a fictional weekly magazine in a fictional French city called Ennui-sur-Blasé and three of its stories - “The Concrete Masterpiece” by J.K.L. The veteran actor plays Arthur Howitzer Jr. The film stars a lot of Anderson’s frequent collaborators - including Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton and Frances McDormand - as well as Elisabeth Moss, Timothee Chalamet, Anjelica Houston and Saoirse Ronan.
